Go Pro are offering one lucky skier or snowboarder the chance to get their hands on a $20,000 cash prize by submitting unedited GoPro footage of their best run of the season.Â
Â
The ‘Line of the Winter’ competition calls for skiers and riders to submit the most creative and/or challenging runs they filmed on their GoPro cameras at some point during the 2014/2015 ski season.Â
Â
The run could have been filmed anywhere in the world; what’s most important is innovative filming, technical riding ability, plus great lighting and creativity. In fact, according to their website, this is the offical judging criteria:
Â
Cinematography + Composition — 25%
Perspective and Degree of Shooting Difficulty — 25%
Performance + Style — 25%
Overall Beauty + Lighting — 25%

Â
The Line of the Winter competition has been running since the start of the season, with a monthly prize of $1000, but the grand finals are coming up in May, when GoPro will award one prize of $20,000 to the lucky overall winner.
Â
The nice thing about this comp is that no fancy editing techniques are needed. Instead it’s all about that raw footage out on the slopes. Skiers and snowboarders all submit to the just the one contest and the entries are then judged by GoPro’s panel of experts.
