From a nostalgic point of view, this is the end of an era for one Tignes’ most iconic lifts. The long serving Aeroski gondola in Le Lac is being dismantled as we write this, and it will never transport you up to the peak of Toviere, back to Val d’Isère ever again.

The sadness ends there though because from next year, you will no longer have to rely on the most unreliable lift in resort to get you over to Val d’Isere; you will no longer have to fear being stuck in a gondola for 2 hours before being abseiled down to the slopes by the Tignes ski patrol team; and you will no longer have to stand up in an overcrowded tiny cabin for 20 minutes.

We have no doubt that many will miss the sight of this iconic gondola, but we are looking forward to a new, reliable, high-speed chairlift, to make the arguably best connected ski area in the world just that bit more awesome.
