Val d’Isère has garnered quite the reputation for some of the liveliest nightlife in the Alps. You can experience everything in Val, from relaxing with a cocktail in a swanky bar to stomping on the tables swigging beer. With that in mind, here are our some of our favourite haunts to help you narrow down your après-ski options during your ski holiday in Val d’Isère...
La Folie Douce
The après-ski fun starts on the mountain at La Folie Douce, situated at the top of the Daille cable car. One of the most famous après-ski joints in Europe, it ramps up mid-afternoon and offers live music, DJs and a fantastic party atmosphere right up until close time at 5pm – at which point you’ll need to make your way down the slopes. (If you’ve had one too many sherbets, you’ll be relieved to hear you can also catch a lift back down the hill.)

Saloon
Saloon is also a popular choice for those coming straight from the piste. It has a unique ski-check system, which means your skis will be well looked after while you enjoy your après-ski drinks. Sitting at the bottom of the beginners slopes beneath the Hotel Brussels, Saloon is only a minute's walk from the high street, making it a great choice for both end-of-ski-day drinking as well as a full night out. It features music from a host of international bands, singers and DJs and the atmosphere is always fun and lively.
Cafe Face
Cafe Face is Folie Douce’s sister bar and continues the party long after its famous counterpart has closed for the day. Face is well-known for its unique après-ski tariff – the starting price for drinks is under three Euros early in the evening, with the price rising by 25 cents every 15 minutes... so get there early! It’s a chilled atmosphere and as the night gets underway, Cafe Face transforms into one of the best house nights in town. It also features dancers with is new Le Cabaret du Face show.

Dick's Tea Bar
Dick's Tea Bar has been a firm favourite on the Val d'Isère après-ski scene since 1979. In fact, it’s well-known across the whole of the Alps for its live music, international DJs and packed dance floor. It offers après-ski from 4:30pm, with a shuttle service whisking revellers from La Daille so they don’t have to wait for the public bus. From 10:30pm until late there’s live music and table service, and the nightclub gets into full swing from 12:30am onwards.Â
Hotel le Blizzard
Those looking for high-class après-ski while in Val d’Isère need look no further than the lounge and bar area at the exclusive Hotel le Blizzard. The lounge offers an elegant place to enjoy a drink in a cosy Alpine atmosphere – and the drinks menu has something to offer all tastes. The hotel sits right in the centre of town and is a great option for those looking for a little luxury from their après-ski.
