Welcome to the Chalet Hotel Champs Avalins! You are sure of a genuinely warm welcome from our professional, friendly staff whose goal it is to provide you with excellent service, wonderful food and outstanding value for money.

Like most of La Daille, the hotel doesn't win any awards for its looks, but it's the location that counts! You can ski back to within 50m of the hotel, and there's a choice of lifts to whisk you up the mountain each morning. The Funival Express zooms you to the top of Bellevarde and a choice of runs - left down into Val d’Isère and the Solaise lifts, straight on towards Tignes, or right by the famous World Cup downhill course back to the hotel! The Daille gondola and the Etroits chairlift start just 300 metres from the hotel, and take you to up the big open bowl between Bellevarde and the Tovière ridge.

There are a couple of popular bars nearby, and our own hotel bar, with some of the best prices in the resort. La Folie Douce, at the top of the La Daille gondola, offers great music and the option of riding the gondola down if you decide against that last ski run! The legendary night life of Val d'lsère is a short, free bus ride away, and the bus runs until about 2am.

The Champs Avalins is comfortable and welcoming. The attractive restaurant on the first floor has views of the piste, and forms the centrepiece of the hotel, setting the scene for our fine 'Culinary Choice' meals. We even offer a choice of dinner times, so you can make the most of Val's après ski activities.

The bar is ideal for afternoon tea or a pre- or post-dinner drink, and the terrace catches any late afternoon sun until it sets behind the mountains.

The bedrooms are generally a good size and attractively furnished. All have en-suite showers or bathrooms, and most have balconies, many of them south-facing. There are some pairs of rooms with an inter-connecting door available on request.

Catering

For six days of the week the chalet staff prepare all your meals. On their one day off per week, you will still be offered a full buffet breakfast but that evening you can eat out in one of the local restaurants.

Breakfast:
A full buffet breakfast is served every day.

Afternoon Tea:
The traditional ‘welcome home’ after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you, ready for your return, every day (except on the staff’s day off). A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake and keeps hungry skiers happy until dinner is ready.

Evening Meal:
A special feature of this Chalet Hotel is to offer a more extensive culinary experience compared with a standard chalet. With the greater facilities of a hotel, the chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always including a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

The adult-only Chalet Hotel dinners (6 nights) offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an aperitif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheeseboard to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening’s repast!

Wine is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

Children and High Tea:
Children (under 13 years) are required to eat separately from the adults, as their main evening meal, at the Children's High Tea provided at 5.30pm. This is tailored more towards children’s normal tastes than the adult-only dinner menu, and includes plentiful soft drinks. Please note that Children under 13 are not permitted to join the adult dinner unless you have booked this Chalet Hotel for your exclusive use, when the choice of dining separately or together is entirely up to you - please let us know at the time of booking. For children receiving a child discount, there is a £39 supplement to upgrade from child meals to the adult menu.

Information

Rooms 102 & 103, 104 & 105, 106 & 107, 302 & 303, 304 & 305, 306 & 307 have interconnecting doors which may be unlocked on request if the pairs of rooms are booked by one party.
